Brave New World Records has recently signed a major international distribution deal with Bungalo/Universal . The deal includes the entire foreign and domestic marketplace. BNW artist Shyan Selah is currently producing the first release of this contract, an album entitled “City of Angels.”

Our promotional efforts have been extremely effective over the last few years. Some of our promotional highlights include the Contour Lounge where we held a very successful industry showcase night for more than three years that gave the stage to over 200 local and national artists.

Brave New World Films is preparing for its first major film production. Our film company in conjunction with Sunset Pictures and Universal, will be producing the highly anticipated story of Isa Nichols and the D.C. Snipers. Nichols was the first targeted victim of John Muhammad and the first to lose a loved one to the hands of the snipers.

Pink Butterfly Single + City of Angels Album Release
"Pink Butterfly," the first single from Shyan Selah's new album, City of Angels, is the perfect representation of music from this unique and dynamic artist. In "Pink Butterfly" Shyan takes the combination of a Nirvana classic, "All Apologies," his own soulful/rock vocal tone, and his clever and witty word play and vivid lyrics to tell a story of attraction, sex, beauty, passion and obsession. "Pink Butterfly" is classic rock and classic hip hop - honest music designed to move not only your body but your imagination. Quite simply, the track is timeless.

Green Album
Shyan Selah is at the forefront of the entertainment industry “going green” through the combination of music and social consciousness. This album will be designed exclusively for the youth market to encourage them to “think green.” Special additions to this green label CD include exclusive footage of the recording process, interviews with industry insiders, and a short documentary DVD about youth survival in today’s age. Special featured artists will include Common, Erykah Badu, Afrika Bambaataa, Dead Prez, Andre 3000, and more.

Sweet water
Sweetwater is a feature film in preproduction about the first African American basketball player, Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton, to be contracted to play in the NBA. Nathaniel "Sweetwater" Clifton started his athletic career playing for an all black traveling basketball team, the New York Rens. He was soon recruited to the Harlem Globetrotters and in 1950 signed by the New York Knicks. When he walked onto the NBA court on November 1st 1950 he made history forever changing the sports world and defying political barriers.
Shyan Selah and film director/song writer Martin Guigui have teamed up to write and produce the outro song for the feature film Sweetwater. The song will be featured on the “Sweetwater” Soundtrack along with Alicia Keys, Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, and more. To add Brave New World’s Promotion company has joined the “Sweetwater Movement” to design and produce a community outreach tour to support the cause of the Sweetwater story and further the intentions of the NBA in their desire to support America’s inner-city youth.

Pursuit of a Green Planet
Seattle Hip Hop activist and radio host, Keith Tucker, is the innovator behind the documentary “Pursuit of a Green Planet.” The project will depict Tucker attempting to live a “green” lifestyle including a vegan diet while traveling cross-country interviewing a wide range of people including doctors, nutritionists, physical trainers, politicians, educators and entertainers on the benefit of living green.
As a hip hop artist, Shyan Selah will also be interviewed for the documentary and Brave New World will oversee the film’s soundtrack as well co-host and co-produce a series of events called the “Green Dinners” which will take place in communities across the country from Seattle to New York.
